A city brimming with tourist attractions such as Barcelona can be
guaranteed a large portion of tourists, and on this long and hot
joint-birthday celebratory birthday weekend we were among the hordes
visiting the sights. Our list of things to see and do was rather long and
the weekend not quite long enough, but we did manage to pack in quite a
lot just the same. .
We saw many of Gaudi's amazing creations, visited the Picasso museum,
basked in the
sunshine on La Barcelonetta beach, and enjoyed the gastronomic delights
including tapas and the inevitable paella. We also managed to get lost
trying follow a guide book walking tour around the gothic area (barris
gotic), adding a few extra bits to the expedition.
The food was good, the people friendly and the weather hot and sunny and a
good time was definitely had by all. If you haven't already been, go visit
Barcelona for yourself. I shall definitely be back!
